I was born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee. Except for a few years in Memphis and one in Texas, I have lived here my whole life. I met my wife, Laurie, when we were both students at Tennessee High School (go Vikings!). We raised three great kids here in Bristol: Lindsay, Christopher, and Alex. Much to our delight, we are now grandparents to one grandson, Luke. We are so thankful to have raised our children in Bristol and thrilled to see our children doing the same.
In 1978, at the age of 19, I started my first business. Two years later, I moved to Memphis to pursue a management role with a larger company. Realizing Bristol was a better place to raise a family, Laurie and I returned home a few years later. I became a leader in sales and management at two different technology companies, operating a business in Texas in between. I started Profectus Clinical Systems in 1994 to provide computer software and hardware, as well as training and consulting services. The company has grown to serve customers across America. We are a proud member of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce.
Though my work has taken me to over 40 states, Bristol has and always will be my home. I really believe our town is special. From NASCAR to Bluegrass to basketball, fans from all over the nation and the world remark about the greatness of our town. This is no mystery to me – We’re a friendly town full of folks who try every day to ensure our slogan rings true: “A Good Place to Live.”
